                                                                Three of the Burmese Spitfires on a refuelling stop at the RPAF base of Mauripur in Pakistan during their delivery flight in March 1955 - one of the delivery pilots being the well known Jackie Moggeridge. The aircraft were delivered by mostly ex RAF pilots via Turkey, Iran, India, Pakistan and then to Rangoon (Photo by John Holloway) Al Deere in his MkIXC Spitfire EN568 at Biggin Hill in June 1943. At the time the Biggin Hill Wing was engaged in a series of Ramrod, Rodeo and Circus operations over Occupied Europe. The Air Ministry Form 78 for Spitfire PV270 which tracks some of its history. After being built and test flown at the Castle Bromwich Spitfire factory near Birmingham, the aircraft was then flown to a Maintenance Unit at the end of September 1944 to prepare it for shipping to Casablanca from Liverpool. The final entry shows the transfer of the aircraft to the Italian Air Force (RAF Museum)
